25 April, 2017 #UX Tour of #China delegates visited Ant Financial ( part of the Alibaba Group). UX lead Mike Mang introduced design challenges around Alipay, which was very informative to all of us. We were also impressed by the other two case studies, especially the rebranding of Hippo Fresh (盒马鲜生), – a brilliant example of how VI design evolved into a full online-offline #servicedesign!

Monday 24 April, #UX Tour delegates visited Bilibili.com. This really is a very different company like no other, unique even by Chinese standard! One example, the team hosted the discussion is not called design or research team but the culture team because they think they are creating the culture with users together. Everything they do is not by the books yet they have the biggest user base among the young Chinese.

Shanghai part of 2017 #UX Tour of #China started on 24th of April. The first stop was AstraZeneca. Pharmaceutical industry is unique and mysterious in China. We’ve learned a lot from Zoomy Zhang on how she leads her team exploring ways to bring more user centred #servicedesign approach to the company.

The Beijing part of #UX Tour of #China 2017 finished with a co-organised half day conference with UXPA China (special thanks to Anita Niu). 4 speakers including myself and one of the tour delegates Tobias Loerracher presented to some 200 people. Our presentation were well received by the audience, – more than 70 contact requests for Tobias on Wechat! That’s how #ChinaUXTour helps connect East and West!
